Message from your President in Masters Athletics

Festive greetings to all of our masters and may 2010 bring you the competition and performances that you strive for. The latest provincial championships held in Sasolburg have again taken place and were very well attended with excellent performances and by the looks of it several potential national records were set which is again testament to the ever growing competition in our fraternity locally and internationally. We also welcome very specially all of the new athletes who are injecting new blood into our sports code and thank those who have attracted the new faces. SAMA has now settled the Masters Games topic and suggests that those looking for more feedback contact their provincial masters body directly. We keenly await the ratification of the world records set by our SA team.

Please keep an eye out for the upcoming ASA Yellow Pages series where masters participation is being negotiated.

We have also recently posted directly on to this web site the history of masters athletics which features SA’s contribution very clearly, please do try and peruse at your leisure.

Should you need to contact our athlete’s representative, Edwin, kindly do so in person at mkmsipha@gmail.com at your leisure.

Preparations for our annual National Championships in Cape Town are progressing well and we strongly suggest that athletes conclude their travel and accommodation arrangements whilst they are at normal availabilities and pricing.

Till the next update,
Benoit
